This can feel disheartening, but the good news is with the right approach, you can make your resume both ATS friendly and engaging to read.

What makes Tailor & Type different is the combination of lived experience and professional insight I bring to every client. I currently work full-time as a Career Consultant, supporting people through the entire recruitment process, from applications and interviews to workplace preparation. It’s a question I hear often and the short answer is: sometimes, yes. In Australia, certain career services like resume writing or coaching may be tax-deductible if they directly relate to the work you’re already doing. The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) explains that expenses can only be claimed if they’re tied to earning your current income.

Here’s what that usually looks like:

• Yes – If you’re refreshing your resume to apply for a new role within the same industry or occupation, you may be eligible to claim.
   
• No – If you’re preparing documents to move into a brand-new career or industry, the cost is generally considered personal and not deductible.
   

Every situation is unique, so while I can’t provide financial or taxation advice, I always recommend checking with a registered tax agent or the ATO directly for peace of mind.

I provide resume writing, cover letter writing, interview preparation, career coaching, and related career support. Every service is personalised and tailored to your individual needs.

Your Part in the Process

To create documents that truly reflect you, I’ll need accurate details about your work history, education, and achievements. The more information you share, the more authentic and powerful your documents will be. Tailor & Type can’t be responsible for errors that come from incomplete or incorrect information.

Timelines & Delivery

Once I’ve received your details, most services are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. If you need something faster, let me know and I’ll do my best to accommodate. All documents are provided digitally, in Canva/Word and PDF formats.

Revisions & Refinements

Each service includes one round of reasonable edits within 7 days of delivery. Think of it as fine tuning to make sure your documents feel just right. Requests outside this timeframe, or major changes that differ from the original scope, may incur an additional fee (always agreed upon before further work begins).

Payment

A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking, and all prices are listed in Australian dollars (AUD). Your booking secures your place in my schedule, so I can dedicate the time and care your project deserves.

Cancellations & Refunds

Life happens and plans sometimes change. If you need to cancel before work begins, a partial refund may be offered at my discretion. Once work has commenced, bookings are non-refundable, as time and expertise have already been dedicated to your project.

Confidentiality

Your trust matters. Any personal or professional information you share will be treated with respect and confidentiality, used only for the purpose of delivering your requested services.

File Ownership & Use

Final documents are created for your personal use. Templates, design elements, and creative frameworks remain the intellectual property of Tailor & Type and may not be resold, reproduced, or distributed beyond your individual use.

The Nature of Outcomes

I pour intention and expertise into every service, but it’s important to note: while strong documents open doors, I can’t guarantee a job offer or interview outcome. Your success is shaped by many factors, including timing, industry demand, and your own journey.

• Creating resume, cover letters, and other agreed services
• Communicating with you about your project
• Improving the quality of my services

I will never sell, rent, or trade your information to third parties.

How Your Information Is Stored

• All digital records are stored securely with password protection.
• Only Tailor & Type has access to your information.
• I retain your project files for up to 12 months, in case you need a copy. After this, files may be securely deleted unless you request otherwise.

Sharing Your Information

Your information is confidential. I only share it when:

• You provide explicit consent, or
• Required by law.

Your Rights

Website & Social Media

If you interact with my website or social media pages, basic analytics may be collected (like website traffic or engagement insights). This is standard practice and doesn’t personally identify you.
